Terms & conditions
Ownership and representation
By submitting music through SoundTrek, you confirm that you own 100% of the rights to the track, or have explicit written consent from every co-owner to submit it, and that it does not infringe any third-party rights, including unlicensed samples.
Review license
You keep ownership of your song. Submitting grants SoundTrek a non-exclusive right to review, evaluate and share your song with potential collaborators for placement purposes.
Placements and compensation
Submitting does not by itself entitle you to compensation. If your song is selected, the compensation, splits and payment timeline are set out in a separate placement agreement before anything is finalized.
No guarantee of placement
Every submission is reviewed, but placement is determined at the sole discretion of the SoundTrek team and the professionals behind each brief.
Stems and deadlines
If your submission is approved, stems must be delivered within 10 days. Missing the deadline may delay or forfeit the placement.
Metadata
Every track needs complete, accurate metadata: title, genre, mood, tempo, authors and copyright holders. Incomplete metadata may delay or void a submission.
Retention and withdrawal
Submissions stay in consideration for up to 18 months. You may withdraw a track at any time unless it is under consideration for an active placement.
Confidential briefs
Looking Lists and briefs are proprietary. You agree not to share them outside SoundTrek.
Plans and payments
Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled, and access continues through the end of the billing cycle. Plans, submissions and services are non-refundable unless required by law.
Indemnification and liability
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SoundTrek, its partners and affiliates from claims arising from your submission. SoundTrek is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
Conduct
Act in good faith. SoundTrek may suspend or terminate accounts for fraudulent or harmful activity.
Disputes
Disputes are resolved by arbitration under the laws of Illinois, in Chicago.
Changes
We may update these terms and will notify you of significant changes by email or in the app.
